Peruvian Chefs Sandra Plevisani and Rafael Osterling won Gourmand Awards

The famous competition, known as the “Oscar de la cuisine” was held in Paris

The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards is the most important  gastronomic literature  event, which every year awards the best culinary books.  In the 2012 edition came as finalists five Peruvian titles  and two of them were awarded in their respective categories .

The event, which takes place in Paris, met in a preliminary stage  over 7,000 titles, from 162 countries .

“Rafael. The chef, Restaurant and Recipes’ of Rafael Osterling , was enshrined in the category Best Chef Book. This book won over other titles from Sweden, Britain and the United States. The text was published under the label Planet.

 Sandra Plevisani won the category for Best American Cookbook, the title “The Great Book of Peruvian dessert” published by the Publishing Fund of San Martin de Porres University.

Also present at this final stage, Sara Beatriz Guardia with her book “The path of the Potato. From the Peruvian Andes to Europe. History, society and culture. XVI-XXI “(category Best Cookbook of the Year). Also, “The magical kitchen Ashaninka” by Pablo Macera and Henry Casanto, for Best Illustrated Book and “The Art of Peruvian Cuisine II” by Tony Custer.
